“Diwali, also know as Deepavali (literally a “row of lamps”), is perhaps the most important and ancient of the Indian festivals. It celebrates the triumphal return of Lord Rama to his kingdom of Ayodhya after 14 years in exile. It also marks the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and goodness over evil.”
