It would be worthwhile to add a link to the previous Option X discussion on this website where many people pointed out flaws in this unworkable design.

Stephen – it appears that it was mainly you that had problems with this design – that’s fair enough, you are entitled to your opinion. But to call it unworkable is simply childlike, and wrong. There is no doubt that it can work – it has been checked out by NZTA’s traffic engineers, who agreed that it had merit, but that they still preferred their own design. The real question is whether there is a political will to go down this different route, or if the status quo of “NZTA knows best” is the only political mantra capable of being uttered.

Interestingly, you had not (at that time) said that it was “unworkable”. And the “many people” were only you, and peter789. Versus the many thousand who have written to the NZTA in the feedback period, saying that they thought Option X was a good idea worth exploring, I’d say that you are in a minority.
